Peer reviewed results published in The Lancet show that the Sputnik V vaccine out of Russia is 91.6% effective in protecting against symptomatic COVID-19. The trial involved 19,866 participants split into groups receiving the vaccine and placebo. Sputnik V had previously been criticized for a seemingly rushed development and approval process without transparency into clinical data.
