‘Race against time’: First Americans vaccinated as US death toll passes 300,000
The United States began a national vaccination campaign this week, with initial administration of the recently approved Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine at hospital sites across the country. A New York City Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse was the first American to be vaccinated outside of a clinical trial on the morning on December 14th. Vaccine recipients require a second dose in three weeks’ time.
