Oxford University starts COVID-19 vaccine trial in children ages 6 to 17
Oxford University will be undertaking a clinical trial of the COVID-19 vaccine it developed with AstraZeneca in children and youth aged 6-17. A total of about 300 people will participate, with 240 receiving the vaccine and a smaller control group receiving a meningitis vaccine, which is harmless when administered and produces a similar reaction. To date there is limited data on the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines on children.
