Oxford pauses COVID-19 vaccine study in kids, awaits more data on blood clot issues
The University of Oxford has paused a clinical trial in children of the vaccine it developed jointly with AstraZeneca as regulators wait on more data around a rare blood clotting complication seen in a small number of adults. The trial plans to enroll 300 participants aged 6-17, and the pause was not related to any safety concern or adverse event seen in children thus far.
