Ontario appoints retired general Rick Hillier to lead province’s vaccine rollout
Ontario has appointed retired General Rick Hillier to oversee the province’s vaccine distribution program. The province has indicated it will receive 1.6 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine candidate and 800,000 doses of Moderna’s candidate, provided each receive independent regulatory approval from Health Canada. General Hiller’s role will draw on his expertise in logistics to ensure a smooth roll-out once the vaccines begin arriving, expected in the first quarter of 2021.
