Government secures another 20M COVID-19 vaccine doses from Pfizer
Canada has agreed to purchase a further 20 million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, which will represent a total of 40 million doses each from that partnership as well as Moderna. The expectation is that 6 million doses will arrive by the end of March, and that anyone who wants to be vaccinated will be able to do so by September. Separately, the government declined an option to purchase a further 16 million doses of Moderna because delivery could not be guaranteed before September.
