Health Canada has authorized Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for use in adolescents ages 12-15. It was previously authorized for use in people ages 16 and older, the only vaccine approved in Canada for people under the age of 18. The recommended dose for youth is the same as for adults, and follows a clinical trial of 2,260 adolescents that showed 100% effectiveness against COVID-19 in that age group.
