Canadian COVID-19 vaccine maker says it can produce 50 million doses this year
Calgary-based Providence Therapeutics claims it can produce up to 50 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine by the end of 2021 if its candidate is successful in testing and receives regulatory approval. The vaccine is based on the same messenger RNA platform as some that are currently in use around the world. The company believes it can produce 50,000 vials a day containing 10 doses each beginning in July. So far, the only deal it has signed is with the province of Manitoba.
