Canada to get 68M COVID-19 vaccine doses in July thanks to Moderna supply surge
Minister of Public Services and Procurement, Anita Anand announced an increase of 6 million Moderna doses scheduled to arrive in Canada late June and July, up to 18 million from 12 million. In total, by the end of July, Canada will have received over 68 million COVD-19 vaccine doses. On top of this large Moderna shipment, 9.1 million Pfizer vaccine doses will be arriving in July as well. Overall, these quantities could mean that the federal government’s target of vaccinating 75% of the eligible population could be reached sooner than August 2021.
