Health Canada approved AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine on Friday, February 26^th, making it the third vaccine approved in the country. One of the main advantages compared to those already in use is that it has much less onerous storage requirements, needing only refrigeration instead of deep freeze. All three vaccines currently approved are administered as two doses. Canada expects to receive half a million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine imminently and 1.5 million more in the coming months.
