Researchers conducting clinical trials of Quebec-based Medicago’s COVID-19 vaccine are nearing completion of their work. All that is needed is an additional 50 participants for late-stage trials being conducted in Montreal. The largest barrier to recruitment is the fact that some participants will receive placebo, a disincentive to enrol at a time when many will become eligible for vaccines through regular channels. Eligible participants are adults who have not previously received a COVID-19 vaccine and do not have certain underlying health conditions.
