Alberta-made COVID-19 vaccine begins clinical trial with first participants receiving a jab
A phase 1 clinical trial of an Edmonton-based company’s COVID-19 vaccine candidate began at Halifax’s Canadian Centre for Vaccinology on Thursday, April 15th with the first doses administered to participants. Up to 73 people in total will receive Entos Pharmaceutical’s DNA-based vaccine, broken in age groups of 18-55 and 65-84. Researchers hope to have preliminary safety data in two months, and are optimistic that the vaccine can be given as a single dose.
